Calling all San Francisco Startups – Operation mainSTREAM is comin’ at ya!
on September 25th, 2008 at 9:21 amSo I’m doing this whole focusing on bringing technology to the mainSTREAM thing. Not a simple task, but one that has to be done and focused on at some point right?
Remember the 90’s? Yack, I do. Let’s not do that again, k?
I’ll be in San Francisco (the valley, dum dum dummmmm!) from September 27th until October 20th to support the first phase of Operation mainSTREAM.

Phase one includes talking to startups who have services that are considered to be “Web 2.0 services”. What do I want to talk about? How they see their services going mainSTREAM, how do they see moms and dads and youth groups using their stuff. Because I say if everyone can’t use something in some way, it’s not all that useful, eh? Sure, some things will always be just for geeks, but who doesn’t get a kick out of their Uncle grokkin’ Twitter?
We need to be geek interpreters to our non geek friends and family, instead of talking amongst ourselves about failwhales and downtime and followers and leaderboards. If I’m wrong, feel free to call me an asshole in the comments, I won’t care, as long as you tell me why.
So where do you come in?
Tell me what your favorite SF area startups are in the comments (provided by the awesome Disqus), and tell me how you see them hitting the mainSTREAM. I’ll do the hard work and reach out to them and set up a face to face meeting while i’m in the bay area to get them to jump on board.
Deal? Deal.
So pass this link around, drop your thoughts in the comments and help me out so I can help us out!
